This combination of an installed base, a platform strategy, and a data advantage allows the incumbents to command a formidable share of the market, making them a powerful force to reckon with.
The Innovator's Dilemma: The Rise of Pure-Play AI Leaders
Despite the power of the incumbents, a substantial and growing market share has been carved out by a class of "pure-play" AI cybersecurity firms. These companies, many of which started as venture-backed startups, were founded with AI as their central nervous system, not as an add-on feature.
